Deckover Trailer
A deckover trailer is manufactured with the deck on top of the wheels. Deckover trailers usually have a higher deck height and wider deck than its counterpart, the low profile or lowboy-style trailer. A low profile trailer has the deck built between the axles which makes for a lower deck height for easier loading but also a shorter deck width. The reason a low profile has less width is because, in general, trailers can’t be manufactured more than 102″ total inches wide.
TIP: Measure the width of the piece of equipment you intend to haul. If its under 82″ total inches wide, then a low profile trailer can be considered in your purchasing decision, otherwise a deckover is a better fit for your needs.
